About us
The Utkal Association of Madras is a vibrant progressive socio-cultural association in Chennai with members from various walks of life, from administrators to technocrats including students and entrepreneurs. The Utkal Association of Madras has represented the rich cultural heritage of the state in Tamil Nadu and also has been a platform for uniting the two culturally rich states. Utkal Association has been instrumental in building the Sri Jagannath temple and Odisha Bhavan in Chennai; it has conducted over the years myriads of cultural programs by Odia artists and brought together the exponents of art, music, dance, etc from both states together. Besides, the association has contributed to the society by conducting medical camps, educational programs and voluntary services during disasters in different parts of Tamil Nadu & Odisha. There are about two lakh Odias living in Tamil Nadu who have embraced the local life and joined the mainstream by adopting local culture, yet preserving their own and have made Tamil Nadu their home.
